Mark Carneyโs first trip upon taking office was NOT to D.C., he was off to Paris and London.
68% of Canadians hold a favorable view of Europe, just 34% say this about the U.S.
Start Shorting Lockheed was a week ago, Skypig Roast just three days. Canada is going to buy one of the Gripen, Rafale, or Typhoon. The single engine Gripen is a nonstarter; Canada prefers twin engine planes for patrolling the vast distances of the Arctic. The reasoning is complex, but I think the Rafale is the likely replacement for their aging Hornets, and not just due to the France/Quebec connection.
The United States tried really hard to stay out of World War II. The memories of the prior conflict were strong and we were just finally emerging from the Great Depression. American isolationism used to come and go, but now itโs not just gone, but replaced by something โฆ grasping and unwholesome.
The FVEYS are over, Canada is eyeing us like an older sibling suddenly taken by late onset schizophrenia, and the rest of the fam are deeply concerned.
Pax Americana is dissolving and I do NOT approve. What we are losing something politically extraordinary and the world will be a darker place for it.
The U.S. alleged โNegotiationsโ with Putin are laughable to the free world, everyone knows the out come Russia wants is Crimea, Donbas and Zaporizija with no reparations no NATO no EU and no European Peace keepers in Ukrain (Maybe Hungarians) would be ok. Oh and forget about kidnapped children returns. Europe is now preparing for a war front stance to stair Putin down. He will back down because he knows he will loose.
Donโt forget Australia and New Zealand who are willing to stand with Europe, UK and Canada.
