The fall of the Assad regime has lead to tens of thousands of Syrians heading home. The Turkish textile industry is panicking over the loss of their work force. Some will commute back for work, but a portion will set up shop in northern Syria. This will be โฆ OK. The Syrians will keep relationships in Turkey, the region will be more prosperous.
Contrast this with the United States, where weโre all but declaring war on our closest neighbors. Tariffs and expulsion of workers we can NOT replace isnโt a good move.
