We do NOT need trouble in the Balkans
Weβve been watching Serbia for the last two months as they come unzipped from Russia, and I presume things like this are happening due to Kremlin machinations.
Serbia has been a sort of Kaliningrad south, a Russian outpost surrounded by NATO members, although they do share a border with Hungary, which we have also been watching β¦ for reasons.
After the endless horror of the Yugoslavian dissolution I have a visceral cringe reaction to seeing this news. Students of history will know, rather than having personal recall, of another series of unfortunate events that began in the Balkans after the late 19th to early 20th century Imperial Alliance dance.
Can we please NOT do this AGAIN?
