The latter part of December has seen an enormous gulf open between would be Department Of Government Efficiency chief clowns Musk & Ramaswamy vs. the reactive, reactionary MAGA contingent. Always ripe for redefinition, today MAGA seems to mean:
Morons Are Getting Angry
If you read Going Hungry By Choice you’re aware of all the chaos and cost losing all of our immigrant Hispanic farm workers is going to cause. Musk foolishly came out and declared that H1B visa recipients are an absolute necessity for our economy (read: his companies) . Ramaswamy then poured fuel on the blazing MAGA response by accurately describing a portion of them.
Six months ago I declared we ARE having a Snivel War. I wasn’t sure that was going to be the case given Trump’s apparent victory, and while the Democratic noises differ from the expected tone, the sniveling is in evidence. And now with this internal friction on the right, it’s universal. Everybody’s got a demon case of butthurt going into 2025 …
This evokes, for me, a great American philosopher, who once said …
Let’s delve into our collective uselessness …
Attention Conservation Notice:
If you were not already feeling at least a general sense of being offended, prepare yourself, because I am definitely channeling Sergeant Hartman here.
Democrats:
The sniveling regarding vote counts seems to have died away. If it were 11,780, like in Georgia back in 2020, I’d be all over that stuff. There were eleven million Democratic voters who just stayed home, creating a brief cottage industry in navel gazing. Having forgotten the lesson of Bernie Sanders in 2016, the party of sins of omission again assumed that unhappiness with the other choice made whatever they decided to do acceptable.
There is not yet an epithet for populist Democrats, and the culture isn’t really demagogue friendly, but if we do have a presidential election in 2028, be on the lookout for that.
Republicans:
As the title indicates, the slap fight du jour is the Broligarchs versus the MAGA masses who expect 1) their prejudices to become policy 2) and that this will deliver to them the prosperity then union member parents and grandparents enjoyed during the forty years of Democratic dominance that followed the Great Depression. Musk/Ramaswamy are obviously not going to support #1, because they need skilled workers, and the farm owners will have a fit, followed by a disaster if we do indeed start putting out all of our migrant farm labor. Neither course of action will bring prosperity, except for the tiny contingent of would-be royalty who’ve captured the control levers of American democracy.
MAGA seems quite entrenched and it’s hard to imagine what changes might come. The Broligarch/MAGA split was an obvious fault line, the others are Catholic/Protestant/Prosperity Gospel heretics/Qanon. Countdown to a social movement that obsessively cites the parts in Revelation about false prophets begins now …
Accelerationists & Independents:
Throwing away literally all of the nuance, the 70% of the country who didn’t think abortion bans were a good idea, but some of whom did vote for Trump because he was at least pandering to populist economic concerns, are now well and truly done with it. The viewership of cable news across the political spectrum is down BIGLY, and the corporate media (no longer MSM) is listing hard to the left. They were expecting a Trump shitshow to boost ratings, instead they’ve found abandoning their duty as the 4th Estate during the election has split seams below the waterline.
Luigi Mangione has not said a word, and he may not know he’s a Carlo Pisacane fan, but the propaganda of the deed is strong. A couple years ago, when prompted with the question “How bad could it get?”, Republican pollster Frank Luntz deadpanned “France. 1793.” Each day we get a little bit closer.
If you’re unaware of Accelerationists, entities like Order of Nine Angles and the Boogaloo Bois definitely fit hat mold, so now would be a good time to Google. They’ve been playing both ends against the middle for a while and that will certainly heat up.
Conclusion:
Luigi Mangione has memorable name and he engaged in a quite memorable act. He has a surname that evokes the anarchists of a century ago, as well as comparisons to a South America revolutionary of the great decolonization set off by the formation of the United Nations.
We ARE in a time of profound change, the Republican party is as dead as the Whigs were in 1856, it’s only legacy corporate media and oligarch desires to control the populist right that keeps that zombie moving. Less well recognized is the decline of the Democratic party, only a step behind the GOP. America couldn’t do change without violence, not in the 1860s, not in the 1960s, and it certainly seems that no matter where we end up in 2032 there will be a trail of blood back to this point in time.
Way back on September 27th I declared We ARE Fighting. I’ve assumed that to be the case since 1/6/2021, but the windup has been much slower than what I envisioned. I thought I might do some roundups of events, but instead I’ve steered away from the minutia of it. There are a pack of Fuckmuppets on Twitter trying to get me to engage, so I’m not mentioning any person or group they could reach via that mechanism.
Less than three weeks until the chaos begins in earnest. The firing of a large portion of government will lead to the radicalizing of the dispossessed, there are a core of elites who stand to lose everything, and you should understand that those conditions are significant components of kinetic rebellion. That is the OBJECTIVE - once there’s insurrection, then comes the Insurrection Act, it’s obvious what the cabinet oligarchs are thinking.
