Saturday night we had our usual production meeting for the Non State Actors Guild. This time we tested StreamYard as an alternative to Jitsi and it worked really well. Jitsi is all encrypted, StreamYard is a proper studio, so Glen and Vince were geeking out over features. Itβs slicker than Rumble, feels more stable, but the big thing I noticed was thereβs no audience chat. They were working on getting StreamYard to feed into Rumble, but Iβm not precisely sure what the outcome on that was.
I was highly resistant to doing anything with Rumble, but my role as pretty girlβs friend, combined with two BTR hosts who had me as a guest starting back in 2012, made this something I could not avoid. Once I got an account it proved to be a non-issue. I donβt think thereβs an imminent jump to StreamYard, just evaluating stuff like that is normal for Glen and Vince.
Order Of Prattle:
As always, the show is hard to describe to those not steeped in ancient internet culture. We spent some time on the air defenses for the Popeβs funeral, and debated what role the Greater North Atlantic Accord might play in future funerals of heads of state. I think Toro is diving into Reddit stuff. Iβll be giving a talk about continuity of business when people you havenβt talked to in years find themselves in the clutches of the DOJ. Libby recorded a couple PSAs while day drinking in a tank top and some big Jackie O. glasses.
This will be our eighth show in nine weeks. The gap was due to one of us making funeral arrangements for a friend whose next of kin was her young adult son, and thatβs a lot for a twenty year old.
