This is a 32 minute video, after a LOT of false starts and stepping on finished work yesterday. I talk about what it means to have a link analysis package, Maltego’s origin as a penetration tester’s toolkit, and where it’s headed.
I loaded half a dozen transform vendors. A transform is a query from your Maltego client to a remote system that offers various sorts of data. There are some interesting free ones, there are ones that are free if you make an account on the vendor’s site, and there’s a lot of big ticket paid services.
Once the tour of the system was done, I spent some time showing what you can do starting with a person’s name - in this case Neal Rauhauser, and then a domain, for which I use sovereignchallenge.org. This is a thing that SHOULD belong to SOCOM, but they lost control of it and have never approached me about returning it. It’s a bit of a security issue, good thing I have it instead of some Wagner hacker.
