Having Mortally Offended India

Creating a generational diplomatic problem.

This level of clumsy is pretty spectacular. I do more background work before I contact someone new on LinkedIn. The Trump administration, having fired everyone who could differentiate between their ass and a hole in the ground, has now done the very thing that India can not tolerate - getting in the middle of India/Pakistan encounters and creating a false sense of balance.

Statistically the Trump administration might get some things right just by dumb luck. But one would hope that mediating conflict involving two nuclear armed powers would at least involve a call to the CIA or State Department before wading in swinging.

Twenty years of trying to disentangle ourselves from Pakistan and it got blown to bits in one dumb stunt. At least there’s not a radioactive cloud over the Indus river valley.
