Differentiating Delusions vs. Denial

The National Nature Assessment WILL be published.

Delusion is when you don’t know a thing. Denial is when you do know, but twist yourself into a pretzel to rationalize that you don’t know, or that it doesn’t matter.

Mother Nature does not give a shit about spin. Biology, chemistry, geology, physics - these are what matter. If you’d like to argue against them, set up a soap box in Swannanoa or maybe Pacific Palisades.

We’ve entered a period where religious nutter explanations are going to carry more weight than peer reviewed science. If your little town in North Carolina is utterly washed away, you were harboring Sodomites. If your California bungalow, and every other structure you can see from your driveway, has been obliterated by wildfire, there must have been illegals living there. The solution to any problem will be more religion, and violent purges of the “other” will be part of that.

This report is going to be mostly awful, but it will have a sprinkling of things that are OK, and in some cases they’ll be OK purely due to wise policy. The report will get published, but we are no longer politically capable of wise policy.
