Agentification: Achievement Unlocked
Having turned portions of my job over to agents ...
I have been using AI for development daily for the last nine months. The first stirrings of an “agentic” environment, based on what I see in GitHub, happened during the quiet time between Christmas and New Years. What works for agents started as tooling for me and my cofounders.
The release of Anthropic’s Opus 4.6 model on February 5th was an inflection point. Ask me years from now and I’ll be able to describe the before and after conditions. There have been a bunch of experiments in the seven weeks since, but the weekend of March 27th an agentic system … just emerged from what I was doing.
I’m going to describe what happened and give enough details that you can do something similar in your environment.
Attention Conservation Notice:
This contains complex integration and software development. Even so, a nonprogrammer just using the graphical interface to Claude and related tools will benefit from applying this thinking to their work environment.
